Activity groups

Supported Social groups run throughout the week at Sunbury Community Health. Groups are available for people with a disability, dementia or chronic illness and older people who have limited access to social opportunities in the community and are living at home.

Sunbury Men’s Shed

The Sunbury Men’s Shed was one of the first established in Victoria in the 1970s. It is the big silver shed, located at the back of the Sunbury Community Health car park, and can be accessed via O’Shanassy Street. The Men’s Shed is open Monday to Wednesday 8.30 am to 12 pm. All are welcome.

Hume Men’s Shed (Sunbury)

Located at 158 Evans Street, Sunbury (next to the grasslands), adult men of all ages, races, cultures, creeds and religions are invited to share what they know, learn what they don’t, or just sit and talk over a cup of tea. The shed is currently being refurbished by Hume City Council, and the members of the Sunbury Men’s Shed. Working bees are held on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays 9.30 am to 12 pm.

Sunbury Neighbourhood Kitchen

Monday nights from 6 pm, the community are welcome to come along and share a meal at the Sunbury Neighbourhood House.

Drop-in for a cuppa at Sunbury Neighbourhood House

Each Wednesday from 10 am to 2 pm the community is invited to drop-in for a cuppa at the Sunbury Neighbourhood House. The aim is to have some fun, meet new people, try a new activity and have a chat.

Salvation Army Companion Club

From 11 am to 2 pm on Wednesdays the Salvation Army coordinates a companion club for people aged over 50. Different activities are coordinated each week including game days, guest speakers, entertainers and outings. Transport is available upon request.
