Why Work With Us

Sunbury Community Health’s vision is for a community whose social fabric and wellbeing is strong. We know that our people: staff, volunteers and students are key to achieving this vision.

We have almost 300 people working and volunteering with us in varied roles. We believe that our people work best in a supportive environment that encourages them to provide the highest standards of care and services to our clients and the wider community.

We encourage and celebrate diversity. By recruiting people from different backgrounds, with different experiences and knowledge, we know that we will be better placed to understand the needs of our community.

Work for a true values-based organisation

Working at Sunbury Community Health is not just a job. When you work with us you join a team of passionate, caring and innovative professionals who work together to make a real difference in our community. Our workplace values underpin everything we do and how we do them.

Our staff wellbeing program

You will often hear our CEO say “we are in the business of people”, therefore it is imperative we look after our people so they may in turn look after the people in our community.

We’re proud to have reached Achievement Program milestones, including receiving recognition for a healthy workplace for Physical Activity.

We have an annual Staff Wellbeing Program with activities such as…

pedometer challenges, free access to our onsite gym and walk/run registration sponsorships in local events. We provide an Employee Assistance Program (EAP) for staff and their immediate family members to access 24/7 counselling and support services via telephone, online or face-to-face.

Other initiatives include weekly communal fruit and vegetable boxes, group Red Cross blood donation days, superannuation information sessions, as well as a bike to commute locally.

Professional development

We are in the business of people and invest in our people so they may continue to grow with the organisation. All staff receive a comprehensive orientation to Sunbury Community Health and the communities we service.

Our online learning program covers compliance training and we have an annual offsite staff development day.

There are also ongoing opportunities for professional development such as mentoring, internal advertising of all vacancies, as well as attendance and presentations at conferences and events. Additionally, most of our Enterprise Agreements allow for study and examination leave.
