Your rights

As a client of the Sunbury Community Health you have the right to:

  • quality treatment which is respectful, fair and equitable
  • confidentiality and privacy
  • know the identity, professional status and qualifications of attending staff
  • be informed and make decisions about your care
  • choose who will be present at your appointment including an Advocate or an Interpreter
  • consent or refuse to: treatment, take part in research or receive services from students
  • access your health record in accordance with Sunbury Community Health policy and relevant law
  • fair investigation and follow up of concerns
  • have access to services regardless of race, gender, sexuality and/or disability

Your responsibilities

It is your responsibility to:

  • keep appointments or notify us in advance if you are unable to attend
  • ask questions about treatment or services and seek a second opinion, if in doubt
  • respect the privacy of others attending the service
  • notify us if you are unwell to help reduce the risk of infection
  • notify our staff of any concerns conduct yourself in a manner that is courteous and respectful of others. We will not tolerate aggressive or abusive behaviour
